Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with the Army personnel in the southern province of Fars on Tuesday, Brigadier General Heidari said the Army Ground Force has very skilled forces in all units and specialties.
It is true that on the surface, Iran has no enemy on its borders but the Armed Forces should always remain alert to the possibility that the enemy may want to attack the country, the commander added.
Army units should be prepared to hit the enemy in a fraction of a second, Brigadier General Heidari said, adding that currently, the situation of combat and defense power of the forces are “very good and satisfactory”.
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.
Back in February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.
“Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
