IRGC Discovers Big Hoard of Medical Supplies in TehranThe IRGC Intelligence Organization said its forces have discovered a large storehouse in southern Tehran filled with medical equipment including operating room masks, anesthetic facemasks, surgical suction pipes, surgical gloves, and other medical equipment.

The hoard of medical equipment is estimated to worth more than one trillion rials, the IRGC said.

All medical commodities hoarded in the store have been confiscated.

On Monday, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Hojatoleslam Ebrahim Raeisi ordered severe punishment for hoarding pharmaceutical and health products as Iranian organizations and government bodies are heavily engaged in efforts to contain the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The health of people would never be up for bargain, Raeisi stressed, adding that hoarding medical commodities in the current circumstances is playing with the lives of people and could not be forgiven by any means.

The death toll from the novel coronavirus epidemic in Iran rose to 66 on Monday, and the total number of confirmed cases of infection reached 1,501.
