TEHRAN (defapress)- Iranian President's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi in a meeting with Azeri Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev in Tehran voiced his satisfaction in the current level of the two countries’ cooperation.

Iran, Azerbaijan Enjoy Strategic Ties“Tehran-Baku preferential trade agreement has made good progress and development of the two countries' relations is strategic,” Vaezi said during the meeting on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two sides explored avenues for further improvement of bilateral relations and expediting implementation of joint agreements.

They also called for concerted efforts to use all capacities in the interest of the two countries and all regional states.

Mustafayev, meantime, hailed Tehran-Baku relations, and said that bilateral ties are currently at the highest level and found strategic dimensions.

He noted that Tehran-Baku relations are growing in the political, economic, cultural, trade and transportation spheres and Baku is set to further improve these ties.

At the end of the meeting, Vaezi told reporters that Tehran is preparing the grounds for an upcoming visit by Azeri President Ilham Aliyev to Tehran after he accepted President Rouhani’s official invitation.

“We are determined to discuss capacities for promoting cooperation in various fields and draft agreements to be signed during his visit to Tehran,” he said.

In a relevant development earlier in October, Vaezi and Azeri Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev in a meeting in Tehran underlined the need to broaden bilateral relations in different fields.

During the meeting in the Iranian capital, Vaezi and Babayev explored avenues for reinvigorating and bolstering mutual cooperation in political and economic areas.

During the meeting, Vaezi described Tehran-Baku ties as strong and growing, and said that Iran knows no limits for promoting relations with its neighboring countries, specially the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Babayev, for his part, said that Tehran-Baku relations have increased in the wake of political resolves of the two countries' presidents.

He noted that that Azerbaijan attaches special significance for enhancing ties with Iran.

Azeri minister invited Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to take part in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Baku.
